Two and a half years later... I'm a postdoc and going to Antarctica!

Ages have passed since my last post, as well as lots of crazy happenings that I'm not going to bother to explain. Suffice to say I'm back in academics and am cannibalizing this tiny blog from my dissertation era to blog about my upcoming trip to Antarctica instead - for the curious and bored (or more realistically, my relatives. Hi Mom & Dad! Hi Goose!) I suppose eventually I'll get around to changing the title and info, but until then, please ignore them. Also, please overlook the drama in my previous posts. Dissertation-writing did crazy things to my brain.
